Cleanup Outreach
Learn how we involve the community in cleanup decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement
Stakeholder engagement is essential to our decision-making process and central to the success of legacy waste cleanup. By listening to a broad and diverse range of perspectives, we ensure our work reflects what matters most to the community.
We are committed to:
- Operating openly, honestly, and accurately
- Continuously improving engagement to meet public needs
- Responding to stakeholders in a timely and respectful manner
Public Meetings
EM-LA and N3B have hosted a series of public meetings to keep the community informed and engaged in the legacy waste cleanup mission. Presentation materials, recordings, and responses to public questions from these past events are available below for reference.

Engagement builds trust, encourages transparency, and strengthens confidence in our cleanup efforts. Our strategy is designed to:
- Involve the public early and throughout the process
- Understand community values and concerns
- Meet or exceed federal and state requirements
- Align with the cleanup mission and available resources
This is a long-term effort. EM-LA and N3B will continue to hold public meetings and adapt our approach as needed. In 2025, we hosted Cleanup Forums across Northern New Mexico to hear directly from residents.
