What We Do
We are protecting the environment for future generations
N3B works with the U.S. Department of Energy Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA) to clean up legacy waste and protect water quality at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), as well as ship waste off-site for permanent disposal. Legacy waste is defined as waste that was generated before 1999.

Protect Water Quality
N3B monitors groundwater for contamination and controls the migration of contaminated storm water linked to historical Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) operations.

Clean up the Land
N3B remediates sites across LANL where waste was historically spilled or disposed. Sites entail contaminated soil and debris, along with old landfills.

Ship Waste Off-site
N3B stores, remediates and ships LANL’s legacy transuranic waste to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant and other LANL waste off-site for processing.

Accomplishments
As the legacy cleanup contractor for LANL, N3B has made significant strides in fulfilling its obligations under the 2016 Compliance Order on Consent between DOE and the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED).
