LOS ALAMOS, N.M.โ€”The Department of Energy Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA) and its cleanup contractor, Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B), will host an annual meeting to report on the status of the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Individual Permit. The virtual meeting will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2-4 p.m. MST.

The Individual Permit authorizes the discharge of storm water from LANL sites where legacy operations occurred during the Manhattan Project and Cold War eras.

Discussion topics for the meeting include an overview of the Individual Permit and the 2023 monitoring season, as well as corrective actions completed in the last two years.

N3B manages work performed under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Individual Permit, in addition to other legacy cleanup activities at LANL, for EM-LA under the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract.
