Troy Thomson
Environmental Remediation Program Manager
Troy Thomson is the Acting Environmental Remediation Program Manager for Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B). He assures that safety, environmental management, security, and quality requirements are integrated into all N3B work processes and work is performed safely and in compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including Executive and DOE Orders.
Troy previously served as N3B’s Environmental Remediation (ER) Operation Director. In this role he led execution of environmental remediation projects across the Los Alamos National Laboratory site.
Before N3B, he was the Operations Manager of Stoller Newport News Nuclear, a Colorado-based firm that provided complex nuclear facility management, full service environmental remediation, radiological characterization, deactivation and demolition, waste management, and site closure services.
Troy supported the Idaho National Laboratory by overseeing and operating a state-of-the-art development and demonstration center that transformed technical concepts into innovative solutions to solve environmental and other waste treatment problems.
Thomson earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Idaho.
N3B manages the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy, Environmental Management’s, Los Alamos Field Office. N3B is a limited liability company owned by HII Nuclear, a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), and BWX Technologies.
